Many expected to join BJP at Talegaon rally
PUNE: Many leaders from various political parties are expected to join the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) at the party workers rally organized by the Pune district unit of BJP at Talegaon Dabhade on May 29.
Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis will release a report card of BJP's Maval MLA Sanjay alias Bala Bhegade listing his achievements in the last two years at the rally.
Prominent officebearers and workers of the other political parties will be joining the BJP at the rally to be presided over by Bhegde. Guardian minister Girish Bapat; Ram Shinde, minister of state for home; Shirur MLA Baburao Pacharne and Chinchwad MLA Laxman Jagtap will be present on the occasion alongwith the other MPs, MLAs and other leaders of BJP from the district.
Factionalism is growing in the NCP in Maval taluka where the BJP is in power for the past 25 years. As a result many NCP leaders are keen to join the BJP. Bhegade after being appointed as the president of the district unit has started work to strengthen the party in Maval. Considering the forthcoming Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samiti and municipal council elections the BJP is trying to induct selective and main officebearers of various political parties in BJP.
The names of leaders from other parties who will be joining the BJP have been kept a secret and will be known only on Sunday.
