Approval from Punjab Assembly will be sought to enact the increased fine

LAHORE (Dunya News) – City Traffic Police has recommended charging another Rs 100 to motorcyclists as fine for traffic laws violations, reported Saturday.

Approval from Punjab Assembly will be sought to enact the increased fine.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has rejected the recommendation to double the fines of motorists. However, motorcyclists will have to pay Rs 300 fine if served ticket for a violation instead of the previous Rs 200.

Traffic police have also recommended amendments for Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965.

One of the recommendations includes charging the locals for expenses regarding new e-challan system along with the tickets.
