The play showcased the journey of a writer, who after struggling with his thoughts, found his inspiration in the girl next door.
Jaipur: A Hindi play - Khidki - staged at the Indralok auditorium of the city was widely appreciated by people from all walks of life. The event was a part of the eighth anniversary celebrations of The Times of India, Jaipur. The intense play directed by Vikas Bahari, beautifully showcased the intricacies of human character. Powerful performances by theatre actors Jatin Sarna and Priyanka Sharma were hugely applauded by the audience.
The heart-warming story of the play revolved around the lead protagonist, a writer, who is facing writer's block and struggling hard to generate new ideas. He is dealing with deadline issues as well.
The opening scene of the play showcased the protagonist sitting and contemplating ideas, which seem to have abandoned him completely. He seemed to be in a state of void and had no option but to look for new ideas and characters within his surroundings, interpret their lives and create them on paper using his imagination. The remarkable expressions of the actors breathed life into the characters they played on stage which won them a lot of appreciation. "I am a student of drama and love watching plays. This event organised by The Times of India was really engaging. I enjoyed every bit of the evening and look forward to attending more such events in future," said Shraddha, a guest.
The play beautifully showcased the journey of a writer, who after struggling with his thoughts, found his inspiration in the life of a girl next door. The play transported the audience into a different world altogether. "Watching the characters come alive on stage was simply amazing. The event made my weekend for sure," said Yash Arora, a young student who visited the venue with one of his close friends.
The co-incidental meeting between the two main characters of the play was depicted beautifully by the director in the act. The entire conversation was woven beautifully into words. "I had come to watch the play with a close friend of mine and simply loved it."
The protagonist in his imagination gave the name Vedika to the girl living nearby and was surprised to find that it was her name in real as well. The human emotions depicted through the play left the audiences spellbound. The amazing climax of the play won a standing ovation from the audience.
The anchor for the evening, Sumit Goyal, kept the audience entertained all through. "It was an amazing play which depicted human emotions in a wonderful manner. It was truly an experience to cherish," said yet another guest, Vibhuti Garg.
