Lineman repairing fault electrocuted in Panki

Kanpur: A contractual lineman Abhishek Tiwari (30), was electrocuted when he was repairing fault on an electric pole at B-block in Panki substation area on Friday. He was taken to a private nursing home in the area and then referred to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital, where he was declared dead.
Sources claimed that when Abhishek was repairing the fault, someone at the sub-station allegedly switch on the power.He sustained electric shock and fell on the ground. His family members and relatives demanded compensation and action those responsible for his death.
They placed the body in the middle of the road and raised slogans against the authorities. ACM I Yogendra Kumar reached the spot and pacified the family members.
Abhishek's body was dispatched to mortuary for post-mortem examination after assurance by senior district officials that compensation would be provided to the family members.
