COAS lauds armed forces coordination in Zarb-e-Azb

ISLAMABAD: Army Chief General Raheel Sharif yesterday lauded the close coordination among the country’s armed forces besides acknowledging support of the entire nation in achieving success during the continuing operation Zarb-e-Azb.

The COAS stated this while addressing the participants of a course on prevailing geo-strategic environment, security challenges and opportunities for Pakistan at the Naval War College Lahore on Friday. “With first hand war experience, operational employment, and state of combat readiness, our armed forces are fully capable and prepared to respond to the entire spectrum of threat,” a statement issued by the military’s media wing, ISPR, quoted the army chief as saying.

General Raheel focused on the prevailing geo-strategic environment, security challenges and opportunities for Pakistan.

“Navy has a proud history of valour and sacrifices,” he said. “As a fully vibrant and formidable force, Pakistan Navy has always lived up to the expectations of the nation in defending the maritime frontiers of Pakistan.”

The army chief particularly appreciated the close coordination between the three services.

“Together, we will uproot this menace and overcome all challenges facing Pakistan,” he said.

General Raheel Sharif’s remarks came a day after he said no military in the world was able to synergise effects as much as the Pakistan Army can do single-handedly.

He made these remarks while addressing the participants at the Command and Staff College, Quetta.

Later at a briefing in the South Command headquarters, Quetta, he vowed to defeat nefarious designs of the hostile elements to Pakistan.
