The Vanasthalipuram police on Friday arrested branch manager of the Avani Multi-State Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society, Ramakrishna, on cheating charge.

A member of the society, Satyanarayana Reddy, lodged a complaint with the police stating that the society was not releasing his fixed deposit of Rs. 5 lakh even after maturity period. “He charged that the society manager had failed to return his money though the maturity period was over three months ago.
