Commissioner of Municipal Administration G. Prakash promised to implement biomining programme to treat the garbage heap in Sathupperi yard in Vellore.

He was here to inspect several programmes in the Vellore Corporation including solid waste management programme, underground sewage scheme, Cauvery Combined Drinking Water Project etc.

He inspected the segregation of solid waste at Katpadi Malar Nagar, Pallikuppam and Vellore Sarpanamedu under solid waste management programme. People in Sarpanamedu complained that water distributed under Cauvery Combined Drinking Water Programme was murky. Mr. Prakash asked officials to find out the reasons and correct it. At the review meeting held in Corporation office he asked officials about the details of connections given under the UGSS. He asked officials to improve the number of connections.

Mayor Karthiyayini, Corporation Commissioner Kumar and Engineer Balasubramanian and others participated in the meeting.
