7 held for murder of flower vendor

The Pondy Bazaar police arrested on Friday seven men in connection with the murder of a flower vendor on North Usman Road. Paraman was killed by two men on a motorcycle near his shop on Thursday night. Tension prevailed in the area with relatives staging a road blockade.

A senior official of the Chennai City police said Paraman, a resident of Ambattur, had a long-running feud with Ayyanar, a shopkeeper nearby, and his son Murugan, regarding the running of his shop. Investigation revealed that the father-son duo had hatched a plan to eliminate Paraman.

Seven men, including Ayyanar, Murugan, Karthik, Mani, Saravanan and Vinoth, were arrested.

Murder of painter

The Pulianthope police are searching for four persons for the murder of Seenu (26), a painter, on Wednesday. Investigations revealed that Seenu was involved in a feud with Vaseekaran. A search is on for Vaseekaran, Yeasu, Karli and Mahimai.
