Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) has decided to take up massive tree plantation programme in civil area and also in army area. The decision was taken at a meeting held by SCB chief executive officer, Sujatha Gupta with members of the all eight civilian wards on Friday.
In the meeting, the elected members were decided to plant a total of one lakh saplings (50,000 saplings in civil area and another 50,000 saplings in army area) from June 1 onwards, Ward-V member J Ramakrishna, who participated in the meeting, told TOI.

In another decision, water ATMs will be installed initially in five out of eight civilian wards to supply pure and safe drinking water at a free of cost. The five locations include Bowenpally (Ward No 1), Rasoolpura (Ward No 2), Karkhana (Ward No 3), Picket (Ward No 4 and Tadbund (Ward No 6). In other wards, water ATMs will be installed in the second phase, he said.
A decision also taken to open an urban primary health centre at Rasoolpura, said a ward member.
