MUMBAI: Placements at Shailesh J Mehta School of Management, IIT-Bombay, ended with the maximum annual compensation of Rs 27.5 lakh. The class of 2016’s average CTC went up from Rs 16.2 lakh to Rs 16.5 lakh. The school, which expanded its batch size by 50%, received 100 offers from 49 companies for final placements. New recruiters included Google, Dell International, Cisco, Abbott, Hitachi Consulting and 11 others that offered a diverse array of profiles from operations, consulting, analytics, finance and marketing.
The batch of 117 also received 26 pre-placement offers/interviews. Banking, financial services and insurance majors like Goldman Sachs, Yes Bank, Nomura, PWC, Fidelity Investments, ICICI and Indus Valley ruled the placements with job roles in wholesale banking, retail banking, corporate banking and securities and corporate treasury.
FMCG giants such as Johnson & Johnson, Asian Paints, L’Oreal, Colgate-Palmolive, P&G and Nestle offered jobs in supply chain management, operations and sales and marketing domains. Consulting bigwigs such as Accenture, Deloitte, Capgemini and Hitachi Consulting had roles in strategy and operations consulting, procurement consulting and technology consulting up for grabs.
The manufacturing sector saw companies like Cummins, Tata Motors, HP Inc, Jindal Steel and Power and National Instruments that recruited for profiles in operations, systems and vendor management.
IT/ITES majors such as Google, Dell, Cisco, Capgemini, CitiusTech, Infosys and Wipro hired students for profiles like IT consulting, data analytics and security solutions. Healthcare behemoths Abbott, Piramal, Glenmark and Cochlear offered profiles in supply chain management, operations, sales and marketing.
