'Intel India' inaugurate first 'Unnati Kendra in Haryana

Karnal, May 27 (UNI) Reiterating its focus on contributing to the government’s vision of ‘Digital India’, Intel India has inaugurated its first ‘Unnati Kendra at Common Service Centre’ (UK at CSC) in Karnal, Haryana, a part of company's ‘Ek Kadam Unnati Ki Aur’ program.
Intel India, in collaboration with CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd., will set up nine such facilities across the districts of Karnal, Bhiwani, Yamunanagar, Hisar, Jind, and Kaithal to drive the relevance of PC adoption.
Haryana is the second state in the country after Telangana where Intel India has extended its ‘Ek Kadam Unnati Ki Aur’ initiative. The programme aims to accelerate access to technology in non- urban India.
Through the public-private collaboration in Haryana, the ‘UK at CSC’ facility in Karnal will serve as one of the common access digital learning centers for the local citizens.
Based on a strong public private collaboration, and the government’s vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas that stresses upon collective effort for inclusive growth, Intel India has worked with the government to open a network of up to 100 ‘UK at CSC’ facilities in India.

Renu Bala Gupta, Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Karnal, said, “Haryana government is proud to work with Intel, to bring the ‘Ek Kadam Unnati Ki Aur’ initiative, to the state. We are strategically aligned with the principles of a Digital India, and believe that this initiative by Intel is creating opportunities for digital inclusion and universal access to technology in Haryana. We applaud and fully support their efforts to drive macro level change by creating digital towns through its common access centers to enhance the e-literacy rate in our state.”
Each ‘UK at CSC’ will be equipped with Intel powered devices, local language content, and relevant training modules for non-urban citizens in the state, creating opportunities for skill development and digital empowerment. Trained personnel at these centers will conduct in-depth sessions on digital literacy, computer skills and internet facilities, along with dedicated guidance sessions in entrepreneurship, language and vocational training to improve citizen education and employability. By providing this hands-on PC experience, Intel India aims to encourage first-time users and empower them with digital knowledge to improve their livelihood. The centers will also be used as platforms for delivering government related content to the citizens - Digital Literacy, Financial Inclusion, and Healthcare, providing users with comprehensive access to improve their lives.
Intel also announced the Digital Unnati website, being set up in collaboration with the CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd. It will enable Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) to learn how to assemble a PC online and upskill their technology know-how.
Intel India is also actively involved in digital literacy programs, policy advocacy and facilitating technology-driven inclusive growth. Through programmes such as the National Digital Literacy Mission, and the Disha Digital Literacy Programme, among others, Intel India has upskilled 80 lakh citizens in India till date, providing further impetus to the Digital India charter, as well to the Pradhan Mantri Kausal Vikas Yojna, which is focused on skill development in the country.
