Spooky CCTV Shows ‘Ghost Of Former Shopkeeper’ At Antiques Store

An antiques shop worker has had the fright of his life after a ghostly figure appeared on the store’s CCTV.

Liam Woodgates, 31, was alone rewiring the store’s security system late one night when the spectre drifted through the 130-year-old building.

In the footage above, you can see a white mist move by a selection of vintage T-shirts on the fourth floor.

The 15-second footage is enough to give you the creeps – and shook up Liam, who resisted going to investigate.

He said: “Out of the corner of my eye I spotted, on channel 16, something moving.

"I thought there must be someone in the building, you hear all these stories of people hiding in shops and breaking out at night.

"As I looked at it I saw this ghostly figure floating through the rails.

"I waited for it to come back a bit longer after that but I didn’t see anything else. I didn’t go and check.

"To be honest, I didn’t fancy it. It must have been a friendly ghost because nothing went missing.

Izzy and Liam are convinced the figure was a ghost (SWNS)

"I’ve always been quite sceptical with these sorts of things, but I’ve been trying to explain this and I can’t come up with an answer.

"It can’t be traffic lights because it was on the fourth floor and the street’s pedestrianised outside."

Staff at Hopkinson Vintage, Antiques and Art Centre in Station Street, Nottingham, believe the figure is the ghost of Mrs Hopkinson, the wife of the original owner.

General manager Izzy Watts, 27, said: "We think it’s Mrs Hopkinson doing her shopping in the building.

"I’m often in the building on my own if I stay late, so I’m a little worried.

"I’ve never felt unsafe before but the owner of the building always said something about the place never felt quite right.”

H Hopkinson Ltd originally opened in the 1880s as a family-run industrial engineers merchants selling to factories, collieries and textile mills.

"When I saw it my stomach was going and I thought it was a joke. I am quite into the supernatural, so I’m convinced,” added Izzy.

"But even the friends of mine who are sceptics who always say these things are cobwebs say they believe it’s something.

The figure was spotted by a staff member who was rewiring the CCTV (SWNS)

"To me, it looks like a woman with a bob.

"It’s as if she’s just walking over towards that rail of clothes to have a browse through.

"It’s my favourite area of clothing in the shop, so she’s obviously a woman with taste.”
