Arrow Season 5 Spoilers, Cast & Plot: 5 Bombshells To Rock The Arrowverse

“The Arrow” is the latest superhero-themed series to wrap up and like the rest of CW’s flicks, the ending left a lot of questions and twists for people to take into account before it returns for season 5.

A brief recap on “The Arrow” season 4 finale titled “Schism” saw mayhem once more as “The Green Arrow”/”Oliver Queen” (Stephen Amell) averted the imminent end of the world and also ended the Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) and his henchmen.

When the smoke was clear, the ending didn’t exactly leave much of “Team Arrow” with most of the team members opting out. Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), Thea Queen (Willa Holland) and John Diggle (David Ramsay) bid goodbye to Oliver who would eventually be named the new Mayor of Star City.

The only one left was Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and only the two are sure bets to return for “Team Arrow” in season 5. However, twists are nothing new for a series like this and here are some possible scenarios.

1. Will there be a new “Team Arrow” or not.

Oliver is testament that even when a main protagonist decides to quit, they can easily return to the fold. Season 3 ended that way with Oliver deciding to ride off with Felicity thus leaving behind Diggle, Thea and Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) to maintain order in Star City.

Technically, season 5 could start in the opposite way with Ollie fighting crime with help coming in later on. But the problem with the two scenarios is that Ollie is the main character of the series while the others are supporting cast members. That said, the chances of seeing “Team Arrow” reunite doesn’t look too bright.

2. If not the original “Team Arrow” who could fill in the slots.

Assuming none of the original team members return, Colton Haynes is the only one confirmed to return. He will reprise his role as Roy Harper aka “Arsenal” though there could be some other new faces.

Among the characters who could join include Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), Felicity’s dad or “The Calculator” (Noah Kuttler), Nysa (Katrina Law) or even Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) if her voyage with Rip Hunter on “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” eventually comes to a stop.

How about “Hawkman” (Falk Hentschel) or “Hawkgirl” (Ciara Renee)? They bolted out of Rip’s team so they could be transferring too. Right now anything is possible though it may revolve on the available characters on any of the CW series.

3. Who will be the new threat/ villain in season 5.

With Darhk out, the question on who “The Arrow” faces next comes to mind. No trace on who that would be was hinted though rumors have it that it could be someone without magical powers. Whoever it may be, will Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) have any hand in it too?

4. What will draw back Quentin Lance, Thea and John Diggle to the scene.

They may have taken a break but a return is not discounted. Take note that their return does not necessarily mean they will be rejoining Oliver and Felicity. They could be doing something different or have limited appearances.

As long as their characters are alive, these three will still be around even if just cameos.

5. How long will Oliver Queen reign as Mayor?

One of the odd parts of the season finale is Ollie accepting the role of mayor. He said it was something Laurel had wanted but somehow it does raise some twists on how he can double as a leader of Star City and be a vigilante as well.

Somehow, his reign will (unsurprisingly) come to a stop and it may happen when the new threat is known.
