    Militants release photo of 'hit squad' which took part in Manipur ambush

    The militants have dared the security establishment by releasing the photographs of a joint hit squad of the CorCom (Core Committee).

    GUWAHATI: While Indian army has launched massive operation against Manipur-based ultras along the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur following the killing of six Assam rifles jawan recently, rebels have released photographs of hit squad.

    The militants have dared the security establishment by releasing the photographs of a joint hit squad of the CorCom (Core Committee), a joint platform of all the militants groups operating in the valley areas of Manipur and said to have their bases in the Sagaing division of Northern Myanmar across the border.

    In a statement, the outfit stated that the ambush, code named 'operation Yenning', was carried out by a combined force under the supervision of the joint military council of CorCom.

    Corcom was formed on October 5, 2012. The platform closely works with United Liberation Front of Western South East Asia (UNLFW) formed jointly by the several militants groups including ULFA(I) and NSCN(K).

    CorCom includes Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), its Progressive faction (PREPAK-Pro), Revolutionary People's Front (RPF – the political wing of the People’s Liberation Army – PLA), United National Liberation Front (UNLF) and United Peoples Party of Kangleipak (UPPK).
