A public grievances redressal camp was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Yaripora where the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam listened to the grievances of different delegations of the area. The camp was attended by large number of people particularly PRIs and Social workers of the area.The main demands presented before the DC were the provision of adequate staff in SDH Yaripora, construction of flood protection bund along Sunmon Nalla and fencing of SDH.Other demands included construction of internal roads of town and provision of canteen and conference hall for BHSS Yaripora besides providing clean and round the clock water supply and uninterrupted power supply in town.Deputy Commissioner assured that all the issues would be taken care of and immediate and pro-active steps will be taken to address the issues. On the occasion, the DC said that another public camp will be held very soon and the status of the implementation would be conveyed in that camp. He stressed upon the officers of CAPD department to keep available the rate lists of essential commodities in their stores.The DC directed Executive Officer MC Yaripora to make all the street lights functional within three days besides decongestion of traffic in the town Yaripora and identifying a suitable land for the solid waste management in the town.On the occasion the SSP Kulgam Mohammed Irshad sought cooperation from general public to weed out the menace of drug addiction prevalent in youth these days. He said the Police Department is going to launch a massive drive against the poppy cultivation which won't yield results without public support. Among other, the camp was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, CEO, ACR, ACD, ARTO, Exens of R&B, PDD, PHE, I&FC, other district officers besides Tehsildar and BDO.
