Badal reviews arrangements for 2nd international yoga day

Chandigarh, May 27 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today reviewed the arrangements for the second International Day of Yoga, to be held in Capitol Complex here on June 21, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be the chief guest.
Taking part in the deliberations during a meeting with a delegation led by the BJP State President and Union State Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Vijay Sampla here, Mr Badal asked the Chief Secretary to ensure full participation of yoga volunteers from Punjab. He also asked him to rope in MP Prem Singh Chandumajra, Cabinet Minister Daljit Singh Cheema, CPS N K Sharma, Bassi Pathana MLA Justice (Retd) Nirmal Singh and Senior Akali leader Didar Singh Bhatti to ensure requisite attendance of yoga volunteers from Mohali, Ropar, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala districts, who were keen to participate in the mega event.
The Chief Secretary apprised Mr Badal that about 10,000 participants from Punjab have already registered through the official website to confirm their participation in the main event at Capitol Complex. He said that full dress rehearsal would be organised on June 19.
