South Australian men arrested on drugs charges after Broken Hill police search motel
Police in the far west New South Wales city of Broken Hill have arrested two South Australian men after allegedly finding methamphetamines at a main street motel.
Officers said they stopped and searched a vehicle on Iodide Street, and then went to an Argent Street motel where they will allege they found about 70 grams of the drug ice.
Barrier Local Area Command crime manager Mick Stoltenberg said the vehicle stop provided clues that led police to the motel.
"Some great work in particular by some of our young officers this morning, who saw something they believed to be suspicious," Detective Inspector Stoltenberg said.
"There was a significant amount of drugs that were seized."
Police are searching for a third man, who is also believed to be South Australian.
"We are of the opinion that the three men are linked and involved with each other."
Detective Inspector Stoltenberg said the two men in custody were assisting police with their inquiries and are urging members of the public who know more to get in contact.
"The risk that people such as this hold to any community is enormous, and that's why it's really important that we continue to have a zero-tolerance approach to people who bring this sort of poison into our town and area."
Police did not disclose the ages of the men.
