The sudden death of a two-year-old boy in a Dorset village is being treated as unexplained, police have said.

Emergency services were called to an address in Broadmayne, near Dorchester, at about 10:30 BST on Thursday.

Police said the boy was found to be seriously ill at the property and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officers said investigations were continuing and the coroner had been informed. No arrests have been made.
