Sony and & TV vie for television adaptation of Bajirao Mastani

Considering the success Bajirao Mastani was on the big screen, two leading channels have been vying to adapt the movie on the small screen.
According to sources, even though Sony has been working on the script with Sphere Origins for quite some time now, And TV has been quick in terms of launching the teaser first.

Going by reports, this move by And TV hasn't gone down well with the team at Sony.
The conflict over content is not new though. There have been instances in the past with shows like Mann Mein Hai Vishwas (Sony), Bhakti Mein Shakti (Life OK), and Ashoka (Colors and Star Plus), where the content has been similar.

Even though nothing has been confirmed by the channels yet, there have been reports that auditions and construction of the sets for the show has already begun.
