Lokayukta nabs patwari red-handed
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta on Thursday arrested a patwari while he was taking bribe from a farmer in Satna district.
Accused Jaykaran Saket was caught red-handed accepting the bribe. Sources said farmer Vishnukant Tiwari had lodged a complaint with special police establishment (SPE) alleging that Saket was demanding Rs 3,000 from him for clearing a map of his farmland.
After initial investigations and recording the conversations on negotiations between the two, SPE officials laid a trap. The complainant was sent with colour-laced bait money.
Saket was arrested soon after he collected the money. He has been booked under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act. More than 15 corrupt government officials have been arrested by the agency in last six months.
