The Left Democratic Front (LDF) will take out demonstrations across the district on Friday in protest against the violence unleashed by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

In a statement here, LDF district convener V. Gangadharan Nadar said as the BJP could not come to terms with the victory of Left parties, the BJP cadres had resorted to political violence. The BJP cadres had attacked CPI(M) workers and party offices across the State. LDF volunteers from the Thiruvananthapuram, Nemom and Vattiyurkavu constituencies would converge at Palayam on Friday and stage a demonstration. In a separate statement, CPI(M) district unit secretary Anavoor Nagappan said party State committee member V. Sivankutty had lodged a complaint with the Director General of Police after the RSS issued a death threat to him.
