Buddhist meet conference to be held from May 28

The two-day second State-Level Buddhist Conference organized by the Prabuddha Bharat Nirman Foundation and other organizations will be held at Rangayana here from May 28. Convener of the event B K S Vardhan told reporters here on Thursday that over 50 Buddhist scholars, thinkers and artists would take part in the conference.

Dharwad: The two-day second State-Level Buddhist Conference organized by the Prabuddha Bharat Nirman Foundation and other organizations will be held at Rangayana here from May 28. Convener of the event B K S Vardhan told reporters here on Thursday that over 50 Buddhist scholars, thinkers and artists would take part in the conference.
Scholars will present papers on various intellectual and religious themes, and also take part in interactive sessions.

Anand Banteji, the senior monk of Mahabodhi Society, Bengaluru, will inaugurate the conference. Vinaya Rakkitha Banteji, the monk of Lokaratna Budha Vihara of Bengaluru, will preside over the inaugural session. They will also release two Kannada books "Dana Hridaya Vikasana" and a collection of Buddhist prayers on the occasion, he said.
A cultural programme "Buddha Beladingalu- 2016" will also be held as part of the conference. The event will feature cultural performances and plays. A special art camp and exhibition of photographs of Buddhism in Karnataka will also be held.
