Dhanbad: CPM polituburo member Brinda Karat weighed in on the Narendra Modi government's two-year perfromance on Thursday, saying the Centre "made empty promises."
Karat addressed party delegates in an inaugural speech of the two-day state level organizational plenum. Going further she described BJP's rule as "Ek saal bura haal aur do saal janta behaal".
Taking a dig at Modi's economic policies, Brinda said the business tycoon, Adani who is a close friend of Modi, has nearly Rs 72,000 crore loan on his head which is much more than the total loan provided to all the farmers of the nation. Brinda said employment has been promised to 2 crore people in two years, but only 4 lakh employments have been generated which is only 2% of what had been promised.
On replying to media over the party's debacle in West Bengal election, she said that it is a matter of discussion and introspection in the party and Politburo will review it. Karat said BJP rule in Assam is unfortunate and communal forces are finding ground in northeast states.
