10 accused sent to judicial remand

Ten accused, who were allegedly involved in the attack on Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale, were sent to judicial remand by the court on Thursday. All these accused were on police remand of two days.

Ludhiana: Ten accused, who were allegedly involved in the attack on Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale, were sent to judicial remand by the court on Thursday. All these accused were on police remand of two days.
Six accused –– Gurwinder Singh alias Goldy who originally hailed from Hardoi Uttar Pradesh but was presently residing in Gurdwara Mehta Amristar; Amarjit Singh who hailed from Uttar Pradesh and was presently residing in Gurdwara Mehta Amristar; Gurmeet Singh, a resident of Ferozepur; Gurpreet Singh who originally hailed from Faridkot but resided in Gurdwara Mehta in Amritsar; Gurnam Singh and Pritam Singh who hailed from Ferozepur –– were arrested from Dhilwan Toll Plaza on Jalandhar road while travelling from Baba Bakala to Anandpur Sahab via Jalandhar on Tuesday
Police had recovered a SUV Mahindra Scorpio with the registration number of Delhi that was allegedly used to commit the crime.

Other four accused namely Sukhwinder Singh alias Sonu (Chowk Mehta), Manveer Singh alias Mahant (village Sudhar Ludhiana), Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi (Haridwar) Satnam Singh (Kotkapura - Faridkot) who were arrested on May 20 and were granted two days police remand by the court of JMIC Insaan on Tuesday, were also produced in the court with other accused on Thursday and were granted judicial remand.
Police had arrested 14 accused in the case. Ten more accused were arrested later out of four were arrested on the very next day of crime on May 18. They were already sent to judicial remand on Tuesday when they were produced in the court.
Prosecution had pleaded before the court seeking police remand for the accused saying that they wanted to get more information from the accused about other culprits involved in the case.
Entire court complex had turned into a fortress with large number of cops employed to avoid any untoward incident.
