Goon turns to burglary to fund wife’s ailment
Nagpur: Kamlesh Dupare, a goon having history of assault cases, is learnt to have ganged up with his accomplices to burgle houses for amassing cash to be able to continue his wife’s treatment and also engage in feasting with friends. Dupare’s gameplan was abruptly truncated after he was netted on Wednesay by Pachpaoli police team along with his two accomplices.
Valuables worth around Rs 1.54 lakh including LCD televisions were recovered from the trio. Apart from Dupare, police took Khushal Nandeshwar and Rupesh Shahu into custody for their involvement in three incidents of housebreakings at different places including Motibagh railway quarters and Golibar chowk. The gang was busted when neighbours started doubting about sudden rise in Dupare’s spending. An LCD television, stolen from Golibar chowk, was being used by Dupare at his residence at Lashkaribagh which raised doubt among his neighbours who are learnt to have leaked the information to cops leading to arrest of the trio.
Police said Dupare had a record of burglaries. He had been earlier rounded up by cops when he was a juvenile for robbing mobile phones from railway passengers. He was already friendly with Shahu and Nandeshwar as the trio enjoyed liquor and narcotics together. It is learnt they had planned the burglaries for fast cash which they had started executing around couple of months ago. “Dupare’s wife was in hospital. He was desperate for money prompting him to take the burglary route for income,” said a cop.
It is learnt the three used to target locked houses in early hours. They would sneak into the residence breaking open the front door lock. They would flee from the place on Dupare’s scooter. Police said Dupare had also brought the stolen LCD television on scooter. Police have now seized both the TV and the scooter. The trio was planning for more heists when they were nabbed by Pachpaoli police team under senior PI Raju Bahadure and comprising head constables Anl Thakur, Roshan Tiwari, Rajesh Deshmukh and others under supervision of DCP Sanjay Latkar.
