Five killed, 14 hurt in two road mishaps

Five people were killed and 14 others injured in two separate road accidents in Kadapa and Kurnool districts in the early hours of Thursday.

Kadapa/Kurnool: Five people were killed and 14 others injured in two separate road accidents in Kadapa and Kurnool districts in the early hours of Thursday.
According to Kadapa district police, three people died after an oil tanker hit a stationary tractor at Tonduru village. Five others were injured in the mishap. The victims were returning to their native Bachupalli village in a tractor after performing a ritual at the Kulayappa Swamy temple in Pendlimarri.

The tractor ran out of fuel and the driver parked the vehicle aside. An oil tanker coming from Pulivendula side hit the tractor killing its driver Guru Bhaskar Reddy, 29, on the spot.
Siddamma, 45, and Hanumanthu, 40, who suffered critical injuries died on the way to hospital. Five others were also injured. They have been admitted to the local government hospital.
In a separate mishap involving a group of tourists from Belgaum, two people died and nine others injured when their mini bus hit a stationary tractor at Pamulapadu village. They were en route Srisailam. Rajesh Kale, 42, died on the spot while his daughter, Vaishnavi, 12, died at Kurnool government hospital while undergoing treatment.
