Kolkata: Many of them won by high vote margins, but now the question is who will score the highest on the style quotient on Friday.
The newly elected members of the legislative assembly, most of whom will turn up at the swearing-in on Red Road, will add colour to the ceremony -not only with their unique personalities but also their attire.
Abandoning the comfortable clothes they had put on during the days of hectic campaigning, many MLAs have planned to take special care to turn up well dressed at the swearing-in.
The question is who will score the highest on the style quotient? The candidates are leaving no stone unturned.
Besides her charming smile, Baishali Dalmiya, the newly elected MLA from Howrah's Bally, will be wearing a smart formal saree to the event. During the campaigning phase, she had mostly stepped out in leggings, tops and sneakers.
"I am not wearing any designer wear, but yes I will be wearing an elegant sari which may have a streak of green," Dalmiya said.
Before she leaves home, she will not forget her two lucky charms - her son and her brother.

"They will definitely accompany me," she added.
Her male colleagues, too, are busy planning their bit to make matters interesting.
Giasuddin Molla, a former minister who was re-elected from South 24-Parganas, will wear a green kurta with white pyjamas.
"I have a new green kurta which I had decided to wear on the day of swearing-in. Since it is Friday, I will offer my prayers before going to the venue," said Molla.
Besides her dedication and relentless hard work, her saris are always a talking point in the social circuit. But on Friday, high profile former minister Shashi Panja will settle for something elegant yet simple. "I will be wearing something simple because my aim is to do better work and reach the common people," Panja explained. She is touted to get a plum post this time because of some successful projects that her department executed in the outgoing government.
Another former minister Sadhan Pande will offer prayers before leaving home on Friday.
"I will be wearing a normal pyjama and kurta because I feel comfortable in them. But I will definitely conduct a puja before I leave home," said Pande.
