KOLKATA: The newly elected members of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, most of whom will turn up at the swearing-in on Red Road on Friday afternoon will add colour to the ceremony not only by their unique personalities but also their attire. Many of them won by high vote margins but now the question is, who will score the highest on the style quotient on Friday. The glad rags are out and the lucky charm clutched tight as the swearing-in ceremony has arrived.

Abandoning the comfy wear they had put on during the days of hectic campaigning, many MLAs have planned to take special care to turn up well dressed at the swearing-in. The question is, who will score the highest on the style quotient? The candidates are leaving no stone unturned.
Besides her charming smile, Baishali Dalmiya, the newly elected MLA from Howrah’s Bally, will be wearing a smart formal sari to the swearing-in. The campaigning phase saw her in leggings, tops and sneakers mostly.
"I am not wearing any designer wear but yes I will be wearing an elegant sari which may have a streak of green," said Dalmiya. Before she leaves home, she will not forget her two lucky charms, her son and her brother.
"They will definitely accompany me," said Dalmiya.
Her male colleagues too are busy planning to do their bit to make matters interesting.
Giasuddin Molla, another former minister who was re-elected from South 24 Parganas, will wear a green kurta with white pyjamas.
"I have a new green kurta which I had decided I will wear on the day of swearing-in. Since it is Friday I will also offer my prayers before going to the venue," said Molla.

Besides her dedication and relentless hard work, her saris were always a talking point in the social circuit in the past five years. But on Friday, high profile former minister Shashi Panja will settle for something elegant yet simple. "I will be wearing something simple because my aim is to do better work and reach the common people," said Shashi Panja. She is touted to get a plum post this time because of some successful projects her department executed in the outgoing government.
Another former minister Sadhan Pande will offer his puja before leaving home on Friday.
"I will be wearing a normal pyjama and Punjabi because I feel comfortable in them. But I will definitely offer my puja before I leave home," said Pande.
