Alejandro Fernández was forced to cancel an upcoming concert in Mexico after a leg injury. The Mexican regional singer took to social media to update his fans on his health: “Thank you all for asking about my health. I am in recovery and resting so I can be in excellent conditions when I go back to Monterrey and Torreón,” he tweeted along with an image of the injury on his left foot.

According to a press release, the “Hoy tengo ganas de ti,” singer suffered an injury in his Guadalajara residence and after medical treatment, the wound got infected and he had to undergo surgery.
Fernandez was scheduled to perform today, May 26, in Torreón, Coahuila but the concert got rescheduled to Sunday, May 29. He is confirmed to perform in Monterrey, Nuevo León on May 27 & 28. “I will follow all medical orders to be able to be again with my audience. Thank you for your prayers, understanding and support,” Fernández said in a statement.
Back in April, “El Potrillo” performed at the Billboard Latin Music Awards with his daughter Camila Fernández, making her singing debut on television. Father and daughter sang the Spanish-language version of The Lion King’s “The Circle of Life.” Watch their rendition here.
