Veteran communist leader K C Mathew was laid to rest

Veteran communist leader and the prime accused in the attack on Edappally police station in 1950, K C Mathew was laid to rest with full state honours at Valiya Chududkadu -Punnapra- near here on Thursday. Party leaders and workers paid homage to the CPI leader.

ALAPPUZHA: Veteran communist leader and the prime accused in the attack on Edappally police station in 1950, K C Mathew was laid to rest with full state honours at Valiya Chududkadu -Punnapra- near here on
Thursday. Party leaders and workers paid homage to the CPI leader.
He died on Tuesday at a private hospital in Kochi following age related illness.
The body was brought to Valiya Chudukadu from his house at Unichira. Hundred of party workers also paid last respect at CPI district committee officer Ernakulam.
Revenue minister E Chandrasekhran, civil supplies minister P Thilothaman and district collector R Girija placed wreath to the body at Valaiya Chudukadu.
