Rain God may smile over MP by June 20

Bhopal, May 26 (UNI) The southwest monsoon is likely to break over Madhya Pradesh by June 20.
“Loo may continue exerting its influence this month at some places in the state where Nepanagar was the hottest today at 44 degrees Celsius. Corresponding figures were Sheopurkalan 43.4 C; Burhanpur 43 C; Raisen, Tikamgarh and Damoh 42 C each and Khargone 41.9 C. The state capital recorded a maximum of 41.3 C, which was higher than yesterday’s figure but normal. The minimum was 28.5 C, two notches above normal. However the highs in Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Khajuraho were below normal,” an official at the city-based Regional Meteorological Centre told UNI today.
In the past 24 hours, isolated pre-monsoon precipitation was experienced in Gwalior, Rewa, Sagar, Jabalpur and Shahdol divisions. Umaria, Jabalpur, Naugaon, Narsinghpur and Gwalior recorded 20 mm rainfall each.
