Demolition of illegal structures at number of places in Surat

Out on demolition spree, officials of Varacha zone demolished a number of illegal constructions and parts of illegal constructions on Thursday. Similarly, officials of Udhna zone also carried out exercise in their area to demolish illegal structures.
On Varacha main road near Hirabag Circle, officials demolished front and rear portion of a fast food joint. In all 1200 sq feet of fabricated steel sheds, concrete walls and galvanized sheds were removed.At Maharana Pratap Garden on Varacha main road, illegal fabricated sheds of fast food joint and a car mela shop were demolished to open up 1500 sq feet of space.
Officials also carried out demolition of 10 tin sheds on SMC reserved plot opposite a chicken hatching center to open up 6,000 sq feet of space. A large number of people gathered with intention to obstruct the work, but with police aid the work was carried out by the officials.
Demolition of illegal structures was carried out from Anjani Boot Bhavni to Bajrang Nagar and from Kailashdham to Iswarnagar on both sides of Varahca Khadi road. Here charges of Rs 40,000 was recovered demolition charges.
In Udhna zone, officials demolished 250 sq feet of illegal construction from Hariohm industrial plot in Bamroli. Here administrative charges of Rs 35,000 and deposit of Rs 35,000 was also recovered. In neighboring plot also such demolition was carried out and similar charges and deposit were collected.
