Edeka and Tabaluga the dragon join forces

Edeka and Peter Maffay with his famous green dragon Tabaluga formed an alliance for children with the slogan "For a healthy diet and a conscious lifestyle." This partnership further develops Edeka’s commitment to children. “To find such a competent partner as Edeka at our side, is a sign of motivation and strength. And both favor children and adolescents. That's great!” says the artist Peter Maffay. "Corporate responsibility is an integral part of Edeka and is part of our mission statement and will be expanding through the cooperation with the Peter Maffay Foundation," emphasizes Markus Mosa, CEO of Edeka Hamburg. "In this alliance Edeka especially brings their knowledge of nutrition."

The Peter Maffay Foundation, which gives opportunities to disadvantaged children and adolescents for recreation, learning and exchange, will also receive support from the Edeka Foundation. The Edeka Foundation combines the charitable activities of Edeka and the initiative “Out of love of our children” focuses on a healthy diet, exercise and the environment for children. And the proven successful projects "Moving better - eating better" and "vegetable allotments for kids" of the Peter Maffay Foundation are used. The goal is to increase childrens knowledge about nutrition and the environment in the Tabaluga houses in a playful way. 

Founded in 2000, the Peter Maffay Foundation enables therapeutic stays of more than 1,300 children and adolescents per year in its locations in Germany, Spain and Romania. The participants experience nature in a carefree environment. The Peter Maffay Foundation is supported solely by gifts and donations. In autumn 2015, the location Gut Dietlhofen was acquired in Bavaria. This location will function as the center of the Peter Maffay Foundation.
