By Mukesh Kaushik New Delhi, May 27 (UNI) Stressing that all available facts of the AgustaWestland case indicate involvement of political interference, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said he never named Congress President Sonia Gandhi in the bribery scandal. "Maine Sonia ka naam nahi liya (I did not mention name of Sonia)," Mr Parrikar said in an interview to UNI yesterday. But he hastened to add that the CBI was investigating the case and it is up to the agency to collect the evidence against those involved. 'Neither I called her(Sonia) accused, nor corrupt. I even did not mention her name,' he said. On being asked whether he is convinced that there was political intervention to benefit the AgustaWestland company, he said,"there is no need to ask this question. (political interference) It was 101 per cent." He said former Defence Minister AK Antony was knowing fully well that there is something wrong with the deal, that is why he all along remained a hesitant partner and ordered a CBI inquiry, the day Finmeccanica chief was arrested in Italy. "Till then he was not having guts (to order the inquiry)," said Mr Parrikar, who had talked about an "invisible hand" which was influencing the decisions in South Block in favour of the Italian company. When asked if the "invisible hand" was of Ms Sonia Gandhi, he said,"as long as I do not have evidence, naming someone is not correct. I have been following this principle since I was Goa Chief Minister. I do not take name until I have evidence." More UNI MK AE RP1903
