Motorola is believed to replace the Moto X lineup with the new Moto Z series. Fresh reports indicate that the new Moto Z will be unveiled in early June.

An image posted by HelloMotoHK on Google+, first spotted by The Verge indicated that the new Moto Z release date could be set for June 9.

Under the new brand name of Moto Z, the Lenovo-owned company is said to launch two modular smartphones including Moto Z Play and Moto Z Style. This means Motorola will follow the same naming pattern as the existing Moto X series.

The smartphones are expected to be launched at Lenovo’s Tech World 2016 conference, which is scheduled on the same day in San Francisco. Recent reports also suggested that Motorola has registered a trademark on the “Moto Z” name with the US Patent and Trademarks Office (USPTO).

Last week, Motorola released a teaser video featuring an upcoming handset which will be unveiled on June 9 at the Lenovo Tech World 2016. The video ignited new speculations that Motorola might bring back its iconic flip phone in 2016.

Moto Z Style specs

The Moto Z Style, codenamed as Vector Thin is believed to be the higher-end version. The smartphone is expected to sport a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, 16-megapixel rear camera and 2600mAh battery unit.

Powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 SoC, the Moto Z Style is said to come packed with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage.

Moto Z Play specs

The other variant named Moto Z Play (Vertex ) will reportedly feature 5.5-inch display with Full-HD display resolution. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 2GB of RAM will power the device. The smartphone is said to come in 16GB or 32GB storage variants.
