RAJKOT: Nikhil Vadoliya (19), a resident of Rani Park on 150-ft Ring Road, was stabbed to death at 11 pm on Tuesday night near Palav School, allegedly by two persons over his lover affair with the sister of one of the accused.
Accused identified as Amit Akabari (21), a resident of Rani Park and Jaydeep Pipaliya (27), a resident of Ranchhodnagar, were detained by the Malviyanagar police.
They are being questioned, police said.
According to police, Vadoliya who owned a cold-drinks shop, was allegedly kidnapped by the accused duo on Tuesday night. "They allegedly stabbed Vadoliya to death near Palav School. In all there were 14 stabs wounds on body of the deceased. Primary probe suggests that Vadoliya was in love with Amit Akabari's sister and Amit was opposed to it," M R Godhaniya, police inspector, Malviyanagar police station, told TOI.
On Tuesday night, when Vadoliya's father Batuk came at his shop, he was not there. He inquired about his son with Vadoliya's friend Rinesh Faldu, who told him that Vadoliya had gone to pan shop in nearby area. However, at around 10.30 pm, Batuk received a call from his nephew Kamlesh who informed him about Vadoliya's body found in pool of blood near Palav School.
Amit has allegedly told police that Vadoliya was in love with his sister and he did not approve of the relationship. He had also warned Vadoliya to sever ties with his sister but he continued to meet her and even gifted her mobile phone. "This angered Amit, who along with his relative Jaydeep decided to kill Vadoliya," said police.
Amit works in a factory while Jaydeep is into imitation jewellery business in Rajkot.
