“Eskom is progressing well with the maintenance of its power generating plant while supplying the country’s electricity needs. No load shedding has been implemented for over nine months now,” said the power utility.

Energy availability is continuing to improve and now sits at 77.02% year-to-date, with unplanned breakdowns at 10.98% and planned maintenance at 12% - an indication that Eskom is slowly making progress.

“As per our previous communication, we have already started to ramp down planned maintenance and ramp up energy availability for the expected winter peak so that we will have sufficient capacity to meet demand while we still conduct the required maintenance on our power station units,” said the utility.
