Oscar winner Penélope Cruz is adding producer credits to her impressive acting résumé.
Cruz produced and stars in a new indie flick, “Ma ma,” and had the crowd at a Cinema Society showing of the film weeping.
She stars as a woman diagnosed with cancer.
Among those at the Chopard-sponsored premiere and party at Cafe Medi were Julian Schnabel, Paul Haggis, Peter Facinelli and Billy Connolly.
Cruz is also producing the upcoming films “The Queen of Spain” and “Layover.”
