Drought-hit Dhule scores better than Nashik
Nashik has performed abysmally poor in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exam among the four districts in the division, including Dhule, Nandurbar and Jalgaon. With 82.90 pass percentage, Nashik district has fared almost 5% lower than the drought-hit Dhule district.
The HSC result was declared online on Wednesday. The poor show of the districts meant that Nashik division was ranked lowest in the state for the third time in a row.

Of the 1.40 lakh students who appeared for the HSC exam, only 1.24 lakh students passed in the division. According to the board secretary, the main cause of the poor performance was the strict measures taken to curb copying and other exam-related malpractices. Also, the number of students who appeared for HSC exam in the division was more in Nashik division compared with the other regions in the state.
The totally drought-hit Dhule district has reported the best score in the division with 88.57 pass percentage, followed by Jalgaon with 83.46%, Nandurbar with 83.37% and Nashik 82.90%.
Asked about the constant poor performance of the division, secretary of the divisional board office RR Marwari said, "We had six flying squads in Nashik, four each in Nandurbar and Dhule, respectively and five in Jalgaon, who kept a check on malpractices. They found seven dummy students in Igatpuri and one in Chopda."
Though the result was announced, the students will be getting their mark sheets on June 3 at 3 pm at their respective colleges. "From Thursday till June 4, students can apply for rechecking of their answer sheets. The students can apply for the photocopies of their mark sheets till June 14 by paying the required fees," said Marwari.

The format of applying for these is available on the board website. In case of any queries, students can approach the divisional board office, Marwari said. He added that the students have to first procure the photocopies of their answer sheets and then apply for revaluation. The revaluation should be done within five days of receiving the photo copies.
"Repeater students or those who want to increase their marks under class improvement scheme can appear for the re-exam in July this year or March 2017. They will have to apply in June. The exam will be held from July 9-27. We will try to declare the results as early as possible," said Marwari.
