Government schools do a good job

Pass percentage has gone up to 96.57 in Theni district this year.

With an excellent performance by students in the SSLC examinations, pass percentage has gone up to 96.57 in Theni district this year.

As many as 104 schools, including 42 government schools of the total 195 in the district, have achieved 1000 per cent pass percentage. Of the 17,148 students who took the exams, 16,559 passed them. The pass percentage of girls is 98.23 and boys 94.99 percent. Sri Sabari of Government Higher Secondary School, Periyakulam, is the district topper among government schools with 492 marks. Second district toppers are Vivekanandhan, GHSS, Kaniyappa Pillaipatti; and Latchaka and Pavithra, Girls HSS, Cumbum with 488 marks. Nowbia, Cumbum Municipal HSS, was the third rank holder with 487 marks.

Dindigul

Of the 27,515 students from 334 schools who appeared for the exams in Dindigul district, 25,471 passed them. Pass percentage dipped to 92.6 from 93 in 2015. About 419 students achieved centum in Maths, 360 in Science and 1,197 in Social Science.

About 140 schools, including 31 government, Kallar and Adi Dravida schools, achieved 100 per cent pass percentage.

The achievers are Kallar schools in Chithargal Natham and Nellur, Adi Dravida school in V. Kurumbapatti, government schools in Komanampatti, Ulupagudi, Kottaipatti, Meenakshinaickenpatti, Kuttupatti, Avilipatti, T. Ramarajapuram, Lingavadi, Devarappanpatti, Manakattur, Sikkiliyankodai, Kudagipatti, Servaikaranpatti, Mannavanur, R. Vellode, Odaipatti, Manjanaickenpatti, Kariyampatti, Kanakkanpatti, Pillamanaickenpatti, Saminathapuram, Chinnakaratupatti, Koothampatti, Perichipalayam, Poondi, Virudhalaipatti, Nallamanarkotai, Deveinaickenpatti, Padiyur, Poolathur, Purulur, Maanur and Manakattur.

Thulasipriya, GHSS, Kosukurichi, and B. Pavithra, GHSS, Vedasandur, shared district first rank among government schools with 487 marks. S. Srinivas, GHSS, Agaram, was district second topper with 486 marks and B. Vishalini GHSS, Natham, and K. Sneka, GHSS, Vedasandur, were third rank holders with 484 marks.

K. Manoj Hariharan, Little Flower HSS, Palani, was district topper with 469 marks among differently abled students. P. Nanthakumar of GHSS, Chettiyapatti, was second topper with 418 marks and R. Sakthi Sangeetha, GHSS, Natham, was third rank holder with 412 marks.
