Chardham pilgrims stranded at Rudra Prayag

More than 50 pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana who were on Chardham yatra were stranded at Rudra Prayag, as a private travel operator reportedly deceived them by giving fake helicopter tickets.

They paid the operator nearly Rs. 50,000 each including Rs. 8,400 for helicopter ride at Rudra Prayag. Pilgrims from Guntur, Krishna, Nalgonda, Khammam and other districts were on the tour.

The pilgrims lodged a complaint with the local police, it was learnt. The issue came to light after they called up their family members.

When contacted, the local police said they had no information on the issue.
