Metro has not hit BMTC traffic: Siddaramaiah

May 26, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:31 am IST - Bengaluru:

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said that the services on the East West Corridor of Namma Metro had not impacted the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation.

“The people using the Metro are not those who regularly use BMTC buses. They are people who earlier used two-wheelers or autorickshaws or cabs and cars,” he said.

Mr. Siddarmaiah urged public transport corporations to focus on providing more facilities for customers to make the commute easier.

“The phase 1 of Namma Metro will be completed in October-November and will be made open to the public. We are working towards decongesting city roads,” he said.
