Mother-son duo injured in mishap at Khamla
Nagpur: A woman and her son were injured after a trailer-truck dashed against the motorcycle they were riding on at Khamla Square on Thursday. According to police, a 20-year-old student Nitesh Nasre, a resident of Bhende Layout near Swawlambi Nagar, was taking his mother Madhuri, 40, to Tekdi Ganesh temple on his motorcycle at around 6.30 am. At the same time, Yogesh, working for a transport company, was driving the trailer-truck carrying iron bars from Hingna and heading towards Narendra Nagar.
As the duo was crossing Khamla Square and heading towards Ajni Square, the truck driver saw the motorcyclists in the middle of the road. Yogesh failed to control the trailer-truck due to high speed and it dashed against the motorcycle throwing the riders off the two-wheeler. Madhuri, who was not wearing helmet, suffered head injuries. Nitesh too suffered injuries. The two-wheeler was crushed under the wheels of the trailer-truck, which came to a halt after hitting the electricity poles on the traffic junction. The truck-driver fled the scene.
Some passersby rushed to the spot and also informed police. The mother-son duo was rushed to a hospital. An offence of negligent driving has been registered against the truck-driver at Dhantoli police station. The police contacted truck-owner Amit Arora who rushed to the spot and helped police in establishing the identity of truck-driver.
PSI Meshram of Dhantoli police station said, “We are looking for the truck-driver and probing the matter.”
