Dwayne Johnson Is Planning A Movie With Jason Statham

Dwayne Johnson says he plans to join forces with ‘Fast & Furious 7’ co-star Jason Statham on a future project.

We were quizzing the star about his “franchise viagra” reputation, when he asked us where he should he apply his box-office power to next. A buddy cop movie with Jason Statham was our instant reply.

“It’s funny, I was working with Jason [Statham] on ‘Fast and Furious’ and we’ve been talking about doing something together… he’s great.”

If this happens, we want our cut Dwayne. If these two powerhouses of modern action films were to join forces, it’d surely be box office gold.

What Are Marvel’s 5 New Films?

John M. Chu, his director on ‘GI Joe Retaliation’, described him as “franchise viagra” after he was parachuted in to resurrect the failing ‘GI Joe’ series, and Brett Ratner (his ‘Hercules’ director) ascribes the actor’s appeal to his charisma.

“I think he’s every man’s man,” explains Ratner in our video above. “He’s down to earth, he’s real, he’s strong, he’s positive, he’s encouraging. He’s got a lot of strength, but he’s also relatable.”

“I think [the “franchise Viagra” tag] comes from… Look, it comes from me putting the power into movies,” jokes the man himself, “That’s what happens.”

“You line them up, and I’ll knock them down!”

Along with ‘GI Joe’, The Rock was also drafted in to put the “power” into ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island’ and ‘Fast & Furious’ , both of which currently have sequels in the pipeline.

Johnson recently revealed he fired his agents in order to reboot his career, telling us “I knew I needed to make a change”.

You can clearly draw a line between his pre-agent change films like ’Southland Tales’, ‘Doom’, and ’Tooth Fairy’, and those post-switch like ‘The Other Guys’, ‘Fast Five’, and now his dream role in ‘Hercules’.

‘Hercules’ is putting the power into cinemas from today.
