Guv seeks clarifications on Sham Bhatt
Bengaluru: The wait for a new Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) chairperson may get longer. On Wednesday, governor Vajubhai R Vala reportedly returned the appointment file sent by the government and sought clarifications on the proposal to appoint BDA chairman T Sham Bhatt to the post.
The KPSC has remained headless since May 2013. The choice of Bhatt kicked off a debate; some Congress leaders were unhappy as it would cause embarrassment to the party.
Opposition leader in the assembly Jagadish Shettar was against Bhatt because "his role in the Arkavathy Layout denotification was quite dubious". tnn
