SBI Bluechip Fund Sohini Adani, Fund Manager: "During the last two years, the fund has done well due to its overweight on auto, auto ancillary, cement and pharma sectors and underweight on financials and metals sector. We were focused on stock selection, identifying companies where growth visibility was better, which had business on hand to execute over the next 2-3 years and we're working to make their cost structures more efficient to survive in difficult economic period. This has helped tremendously in generating superior performance. Also, our underweight stance on financials, especially corporate lenders, both public and private, helped to a great extent."

TOP 3 PICKS: HDFC Bank, Infosys, RIL

Tata Retirement Savings Fund - Moderate Plan Sonam Udasi, Fund Manager: “We think that the mandate of the fund has been key to its success. Owing to its retirement led mandate, the investment focus has been towards long-term growth sectors and opportunities that are more secular in nature. It has allowed the fund to have longer term growth horizon for its investments, keeping at bay tendency to change stance frequently. We steadfastly avoided investments in overleveraged sectors or segments, while also maintaining its underweight stance on the PSU Banking space. We continue to remain true to this mandate and the fund is likely to continue its strategic journey.”

ICICI Prudential Dynamic Bond Fund Rahul Goswami, Fund Manager: "Over the last two years, we saw interest rates declining as the inflation remained benign. The fund maintained a high duration (maturity) in this period which aided the fund's performance. It is well diversified between corporate bonds and G-Sec to benefit from both, higher accrual from corporate securities and capital appreciation from expected moderation in interest rates. The fund is also invested in State Development Loans (SDLs) as valuations are attractive against govt and corporate bonds. It maintains a maturity period of about 4.85 years as yields may fall further with improving liquidity."
