1 Smash and browse? A woman awoke April 27 to find the rear windshield of her SUV smashed in the driveway of her friend’s house in the 1700 block of Cuprite Court, Castle Rock. The doors were unlocked, indicating someone entered the vehicle. However, nothing was taken.

2 Car creepers canvass neighborhood. Police investigated reports of vehicle break-ins in Castle Rock’s Crystal Valley subdivision on April 26. Officers checked in with a woman living in the 4300 block of Greystone Lane whose center console was left open. She said she just bought the car and there was nothing inside to steal.

3 Truck picked clean. A man living in the 9800 block of Zenith Meridian Drive, Douglas County, on March 19 discovered someone had broken into his truck and taken a nail gun, two floor staplers, two drills, two pairs of name-brand sunglasses and cash he had in the center console.

4 Dining room table double deal. A man living in the 10200 block of Park Meadows Drive, Douglas County, on March 14 reported he tried to sell his dining room table online for $130, when a potential buyer mailed him a check for $1,300 and asked him to wire the rest to a third party in Florida. Police found the check was from a New York construction company that had recently had its financial information compromised.

5 Car move aids thieves. A man moved his wife’s SUV out of their garage onto the street in the16100 block of Whitestone Drive, Douglas County on March 14. The next morning, the couple discovered her cellphone had been stolen from the vehicle.
