Metro rail officials told to speed up Corridor-3 work
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) chief NVS Reddy on Wednesday instructed officials to complete the work on Corridor-3 of the rapid transit project, linking Nagole and Shilparamam, by early next year.
The metro rail project, covering 71.16 km, is coming up in three corridors - Miyapur-L B Nagar, JBS-Falaknuma and Nagole-Shilparamam. During an inspection of the 27.5-km stretch of Corridor-3, Reddy instructed officials from both HMRL and project concessionaire Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to expedite the work.
While the final deadline for the completion of work was July 2017, L&T recently stated that they were seeking to extend the deadline to December 2018.

The steps to be taken in order to speed up the work include clearing of encroachments in Begumpet RoB adjacent to Begumpet Railway Station, speedy completion of pillar works in front of White House, and demolition of the marked portion of Rehamat Complex at Ameerpet junction.
Reddy instructed L&T officials to work on a revised scheme to expedite the Ameerpet interchange station works. The L&T officials are to make a presentation on the revised scheme, along with a traffic management plan, within a week from Wednesday.
Demolition of properties in Yusufguda will be put on the fast-track and damaged roads will be re-carpeted before the onset of monsoon. Encroachments in Krishnanagar, Jubilee Hills checkpost, Peddamma temple, Madhapur and Durgam Cheruvu are to be cleared soon.
A release issued by HMRL said owners of Transstroy building have been asked to hand over the building before May end and demolition would start on June 1.
