Student Transportation to Go Ex-Dividend

Student Transportation Inc. (TSX: STB) is a Canada-based company providing student transportation solutions. The company operates nearly 13,000 vehicles. STB’s family of local companies deliver transportation, management, logistics and technology solutions to a range of customers throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Student Transportation will begin trading ex-dividend on Thursday, May 26th. The company is scheduled to pay of dividend of $0.03667 per share on June 15, 2016. This is the 15th straight quarter that STB has paid the same dividend.

STB currently offers a very attractive yield. The stock offers a yield of 9.76%. Year-to-date, STB shares have generated more than 22% in returns, excluding dividends.

Earlier this month, STB also announced its financial results for the third quarter of its fiscal 2016. For the quarter ended March 31, 2016, the company reported revenue of $173.2 million, up 10.8% on a year-over-year basis. The company’s income from operations totaled $12.2 million, compared to $7 million reported for the same period in the previous year. Net income for the third quarter came in at $3.8 million, or $0.04 per share, compared to $0.02 per share reported for the same period in the previous year.
