Reaching new heights: Suns hike Piestewa Peak

The Suns hiked Piestewa Peak.

The Phoenix Suns did not have an NBA draft workout Wednesday.

So what did they do to pass the time?

What any of us would do on an off day in the summer in Arizona, of course. A hike.

Many Suns players and staffers hiked Piestewa Peak this morning.

Eric Bledsoe, Devin Booker, Alex Len, Archie Goodwin, Ronnie Price and Alan Williams as well as Suns GM Ryan McDonough, coach Earl Watson, assistant coach Nate Bjorkgren and others got an early start to Wednesday by making their way to the summit of the 2,610 foot mountain.

Watson tweeted a picture of the hikers at the top.

Other Suns players got involved on social media, too.

Devin Booker tweeted: "Good morning world. Hiked Piestewa Peak with the squad.. Feeling accomplished haha."

Archie Goodwin also posted a picture on his Instagram account.

Piestewa Peak Summit Trail is more than a mile long and is pretty steep at points.

In fact, hikers gain more than 1,200 feet in elevation.

The City of Phoenix website describes it as "extremely strenuous and difficult. Long rocky segments with possible drops and exposure."

It's pretty cool to see so many Suns players and staffers make the trek and have fun while doing so.

It's nice to see that they didn't give up, that they reached the pinnacle.

Could it be the beginning of the Suns reaching new heights on the court as well?
